New Multi Block Released 1st April 2008

3M released the new Multi block on the 1st of April allowing several jobs to be nested and milled at the same time.
Ken Poland Milling are still carrying out their assessment of this product and will report on their finding soon.

New Scanners

The end of May should also see the opening up of scanners to other materials including metals. We will keep you informed of all news of this as we receive it from 3M.

block

3M ESPE will be unifying the way the Zirconia Blocks are produced, they will be produced in the same way as the new Multiblock, so appearance and feel wise they will be similar, the new shape has been designed to improve milling times.

The new dimensions do not influence the size of the current restorations and the nesting capabilities of the frames. As you are aware next year we will be launching the next generation of milling machines, and these frames are designed for the new machines, but are also designed to work with the current machines.

BUT Important the new frames are backwards compatible for the current milling machines, ONLY when the Lava Calc software has been upgraded. This upgrade must occur by the end of Sept to enable the current milling machines to recognise the new blocks.

The new frames are being introduced from the 1st of Oct, so it is vital that we have all the signed contracts back as soon as possible so we can proceed with the upgrades.

The ordering process and packaging will not change.
