At the end of 2006 talks started between Rob Poland (lab owner) Sal Ibrahim (dental technician) and Steven Pope (Engineer) to introduce a Lava™ Milling Machine and to establish the Ken Poland Milling Centre. The aim was to produce exceptionally good fitting copings that offered excellent porcelain support something the lab had not be able to receive consistently from anywhere else.

3M's Lava™ offered the best solution in terms of fit and by far the best aesthetics and the strength of their Zirconia is seen to be by far the best. With the right team running it and 3M's Technology Superb results could be achieved.

Striving Towards Perfection

For every job that enters the milling centre, the teams aim to achieve the best fitting coping possible with the preparation provided and the most ideally supported substructure from the additional information given i.e., (Bite reg, opposing, adjacent teeth, etc) as well as the comments expressed on the lab sheet with the case. The team have perfected some techniques for enabling the scanner operator to see very accurately the outer dimensions of the restoration thus enabling the ceramists a even coverage of porcelain with critical support in the right areas as well as always being on hand by phone or for local customers to pop in for advice and support.

The milling centre has now been producing coping for many different labs in London as well as nationally employing the same philosophy that has given them the superior results for Ken Poland Dental Studio.
